Senior Fellow

Stephan Lorenz is a Senior Fellow at the IASS and an adjunct professor for sociology at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. He has researched organic consumption in the time of BSE crisis and new agricultural and consumption policies; food banks as an indicator of social exclusion and restictive welfare policies in the affluent countries; the discourse on the honeybee decline, pollination crisis and new developments in beekeeping; ecological criticism of growth and sustainable alternatives. His work comprises empirical research, applying qualitative-exploratory methods, and also theories of society and diagnoses of current social developments. At the moment his focus is on theory and methodology of procedures.
